Meet The Team

Location: Northampton

Teams You Support: Manchester United ; Tottenham Hotspurs

Favourite Players: Andrei Kanchelskis , Ole Gunnar Solskjear, Cafu, Xavi, Beckham, Giggs, Vidic

Best Memory of Football: Watching the England vs Greece game in a North London pub and smashing my head of the ceiling when Beckham scored THAT free kick.

Short Personal Statement: I learnt to appreciate football at a young age and I still watch any game I can. From a free flowing open attacking game to a methodical short ball game, I love every aspect possible of the beautiful game. I am a United fan who doesn’t believe in any of the rivalries that people get too caught up in.

Location: Thornton-Cleveleys, near Blackpool

Teams You Support: Lifelong Liverpool supporter, Blackpool season ticket holder

Favourite Players: John Barnes, Stevie Gerrard and Lionel Messi

Best Memory of Football: Liverpool winning the Champions League in 2005 and Blackpool gaining an unlikely promotion to the Premier League, resulting in them beating Liverpool home and away the following season!!! Something I thought I’d never see happen.

Short personal Statement: To say I love football is an understatement. I like to think because of my passion for the game, I am knowledgeable. To be honest, I’m probably more encyclopaedic!!! Talk to me, share knowledge with me and challenge me because football is quite frankly the greatest game on earth.

Annelies Nuytten

Location: Belgium

Teams you support: Manchester United, Club Brugge and our national team.

Favorite players: François Sterchele, mostly I like supporting the shirt, not the person who’s wearing it…

Best Memory of football: The 1999 Champions League final. Next to that I’d pick the first time I went watching Belgian club Waregem: I had free tickets and sat it the wrong stand..result? A three month ban for fighting. I never went back to Waregem though.

Short personal statement: I believe you support a club because it’s your destiny. I seldom watch live matches, but when I do I lose my voice. My dream is to become a sports journalist, especially for football. I’d love to bring the cultural side of the beautiful game to this blog (bits of club history, artworks, legendary matches, etc.)

Location: Newton Abbot

Teams I Support: Stoke City, Torquay United (Home team)

Favourite Players: The castle defence of Robert Huth and England’s finest Ryan Shawcross.
Best Memory of Football: As a Red Devil as a child, it has to be the Champions League final of ’99. Even from the sofa you could feel the atmosphere.
Short Personal Statement: Dedicated follower of Stoke City, forever requesting they let me take over as Director of football before we get relegated. If there’s the opportunity of getting to a game at Plainmoor or St.James’ Park I’ll take it. The day Christiano Ronaldo returns to United, the Premier League will be untouchable.
